Because Smart Sips is built with a local-first architecture, your data stays where it belongs: on your device. We design systems to keep you in total control.

Information We Collect and How We Use It
Smart Sips is designed to function entirely on your mobile device without requiring a user account, registration, or cloud profile.

Hydration Data: The App tracks the fluid volume inputs, beverage types, and timestamps you choose to log. This data is stored locally on your device's internal storage.

No Server Collection: We do not operate external servers for this App. We do not collect, store, upload, or transmit your hydration logs, device identifiers, or any other personal data to ourselves or any third-party analytics firms.

Google Health Connect Integration
Write-Only Integration (Option A)
If you explicitly choose to enable the Google Health Connect integration, Smart Sips will request permission to interact with health data on your device.

Data Writing: Smart Sips will write your logged hydration data (such as fluid volume and timestamps) directly into Google Health Connect on your device to help you centralize your fitness and health metrics.

Data Reading: Smart Sips only writes data to Health Connect. It does not read, import, or alter any data generated by other apps within the Health Connect ecosystem.

Policy Compliance: Smart Sips' use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We never use data obtained through Health Connect for advertising, marketing, or user profiling.

Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosure
Because we do not collect your data, we cannot and do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. Your data is only shared with Google Health Connect if you explicitly enable that setting on your device.

Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored using your device's secure local storage mechanisms.

Full Control: You have absolute control over your data. You can modify or delete your history at any time from within the App's settings.

App Deletion: Uninstalling the App from your device will automatically purge all locally stored Smart Sips data permanently. Data previously exported to Google Health Connect will remain in Health Connect and must be managed or deleted through your Android system settings.

Security
We rely on the native security frameworks of your device’s operating system (Android) to protect the data stored on your device. However, please be aware that the security of your local data ultimately depends on your device security settings (such as passcodes, biometrics, and avoiding unauthorized device modification/rooting).

Children’s Privacy
Smart Sips does not knowingly collect, store, or solicit data from anyone under the age of 13 (or the relevant legal age in your jurisdiction), as all data tracking occurs locally on the user's device and is not accessible to us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app design or legal obligations. Any updates will be posted directly within the App or on our app store listing page. Your continued use of the App following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
